Reluctant Runner Turns Magnificent Marshall

Oh dear!!! It appears to be here!

Picture the scene last year, one highly emotional Ealing editor cheering on the many exhausted runners on their last mile at Lammas Park.

I was so very, very teary as I saw all range of people digging deep to get to that fabulous FINISH line and and for some bizarre reason vowed that I would tackle those 13.1 miles once again.

Well a year has gone - just like that, how, I will never know, and in two weeks time on Sunday 29 September, runners from everywhere will flock to Ealing to be a part of the wonderful EHM.

This award winning half marathon is highly popular with runners for many reasons; the road closed route, excellent organisation, incredible volunteers and not forgetting the amazing support all the way throughout the route.

Please do all turn out again if you can, cheer and HI-5 as you have done in previous years. Yes, there may be some inconvenience due to road closures and diversions (I promise to run the best I can so everything will open back up as early as possible), but it's really not for too long.

After previous races I heard runners from far afield marvelling at how fab Ealing is and how they reckon EHM has *the* best supporters compared to of any other half marathons they've done.

As I always add (and a bit of self-interest here) please do cheer just as loud for those at the back as the super speedies at the front - it's 13.1miles regardless of how fast it is covered and make a noise especially for number 1819 because believe me that 'runner' is sure going to need some help!!
