One of strongest months on record for W5 post code area

In the W5 post code area during May the average transaction price was £620,671. This is one of the highest averages for monthly sales in the area. 52 properties were sold during the period with six going for over one million pounds. The most expensive property sold during the month was in Elm Avenue selling for £2,250,000.

In West Ealing (W13) the average price was £409,743 with 20 properties changing hands. The most expensive home sold in the area during the month was on Amherst Avenue going for £1,030,000 the only million pound plus transaction.

The June data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price rise of 0.9% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £161,777.

London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 6.3% to £359,476 over the same period.

The most up-to-date figures available show that during April 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 19 per cent to 41,244 compared with 50,721 in April 2011.

The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in April 2012 decreased by 43 per cent to 468 from 825 in April 2011.
