Santa Maria, the Neapolitan pizzeria founded in Ealing in 2010, is reopening its Bond Street location later this month following a major refurbishment. The relaunch coincides with the brand’s 15th anniversary and will be marked by a giveaway of 150 free pizzas on Thursday, 28 August.
The giveaway will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with 150 vouchers available to visitors on the day.
The restaurant, located at 11 Bond Street, (W5 5AP), first opened on St Mary’s Road in a modest 26-seat venue beside the Red Lion pub. It quickly gained recognition, with Time Out naming it London’s Best Pizza just two months after launch. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Santa Maria relocated 500 metres to its current site to accommodate more diners and meet new operational needs.
Co-founders Angelo Ambrosio and Pasquale Chionchio, who met in Naples in the 1990s, have described the reopening as a “full circle moment.” They said, “Ealing will always be home for us. It’s where Santa Maria was born, where our roots are, and where our families live. This community has given us so much over the years, and redoing the Ealing branch feels like a full circle moment.”
The refurbished site features a more spacious layout and updated design, while maintaining the brand’s commitment to traditional Neapolitan pizza and hospitality. The reopening follows the recent launch of Santa Maria’s sixth London location in Paddington, joining existing branches in Fulham, Fitzrovia, Islington, and Kew Gardens.
The Ealing giveaway is part of a broader summer of community engagement across the borough. Earlier this season, the Ealing Business Improvement District (BID) hosted a series of public events including the #MakeItTasty and #MakeItFeelGood campaigns, which featured food tastings, wellness activities, and local promotions.
