Gutterball aims to offer family friendly social games
July 9, 2025 A new venture is expected to open at the former premises of the Ealing Project in August. Gutterball will offer ten-pin bowling alleys as well as pool, karaoke, shuffleboard and arcade games. The company behind it is Lane 7 which has a number of adults only ‘competitive socialising’ venues across the UK including near Victoria station. The Gutterball concept aims to be more family friendly and there is an existing branch in North Shields. It runs on a self-serve pay-as-you-play wristband system in which customers can top up their credit and scan to access various games on demand. There will be a café with burgers, kids’ meals, snacks, coffee, and craft beer. Prices at the North Shields venue are £10 for one game of bowling for adults or £8.50 for kids with reduced prices off peak. The company already has twenty sites across the country including the adults orientated venues and is currently expanding. The Ealing location is one of six additional venues it is hoping to launch this year with Gutterball also set to open in Lincoln. Gavin Hughes, managing director of Lane7, told the Propel newsletter, “Gutterball is all about creating memorable moments – the kind of place where everyone can let loose, have fun and leave with a story. Bringing it to London is a big moment for us, and Ealing Broadway is the perfect place to kick things off. Expect noise, colour, chaos – in the best possible way.”
