Notting Hill & Ealing High School is celebrating a remarkable series of international sporting achievements as four students have been selected to represent their countries in elite competitions across a diverse range of disciplines. The latest successes highlight the school’s growing reputation for nurturing exceptional sporting talent from the earliest years through to sixth form.

The newest group of athletes includes students competing at the highest levels in Ice Swimming, Netball, Mixed Martial Arts and Climbing. Among them is Year 7 climber Hannah C, whose selection for the England Climbing Team makes her one of the youngest athletes in the country to achieve national representation. Her achievement reflects the depth of emerging talent across all age groups at the school.

These announcements follow news released before Christmas, when four current students and one recent alumna were selected to represent Great Britain in Water Polo. Together, the two waves of international call-ups underline the rapid rise of elite sport at Notting Hill & Ealing High School and the breadth of disciplines in which students are now excelling.

Year 13 student Alex D has just returned from representing Great Britain at the Ice Swimming Championships, competing on the senior international stage in a sport that demands extraordinary endurance and resilience. In Year 10, Erin L represented the Under-19 French Netball Team during a major European competition over the Christmas break, demonstrating her impact at elite youth level. Year 9 student Baani G travelled to South Korea to represent the United Kingdom at the Mixed Martial Arts International Championships, gaining valuable global experience in one of the world’s most demanding combat sports. Completing the group is Year 7 athlete Hannah C, whose selection for the England Climbing Team marks a significant milestone so early in her sporting journey.

The school says these achievements reflect its commitment to supporting students in both academic and sporting excellence. The range of sports represented, from team games and endurance events to technical and combat disciplines, demonstrates the inclusive and ambitious culture within the school’s sports programme. Students are encouraged to pursue their passions at the highest level, supported by specialist coaching and a strong ethos of participation and personal development.

Andrew Bennett, Director of Sport at Notting Hill & Ealing High School, said the school was immensely proud of the students’ achievements. He praised their dedication and discipline, noting that it was particularly exciting to see talent emerging from Year 7 right through to sixth form. He added that the selections were a testament not only to the students’ hard work but also to the supportive environment and coaching culture that the school has built. He said the school looked forward to cheering them on as they continue to compete on the world stage.

The school’s latest international selections reinforce its growing status as a centre of sporting excellence, with students increasingly making their mark in competitions across the globe.
