Police have launched a renewed public appeal as they continue to investigate the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Jordan Oliver Rodney from Northolt, who died after being gunned down on the night of Wednesday, 11 June. The incident, which also left a second man injured, has led to the charging of a man from Ealing with murder.

Detectives investigating are asking for assistance in finding a motorbike which was last seen on Eaton Rise.

Emergency services were called to Claxton Grove at 11:19pm where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were rushed to hospital, but despite extensive medical efforts, Mr Rodney – a Northolt resident – died the following day, Thursday, 12 June. The second man, who has since been named as Omar Joseph, sustained head and hand injuries but was discharged from hospital shortly afterwards.

Metropolitan Police detectives believe the violence was triggered by a family dispute that erupted during a wake held for a younger relative. It is alleged that the suspect, 28-year-old Jahmel Joseph of Eaton Rise, arrived at the gathering on a motorbike armed with a sawn-off shotgun and opened fire at close range on his two relatives. Mr Rodney, his cousin, was reportedly shot in the eye, while Omar Joseph, the suspect’s brother, was struck in the head and hand.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, who is leading the homicide investigation, is urging the public to help locate the motorbike believed to have been used in the attack. “We are working at pace on this investigation,” he said, “but we are asking the public to help us trace what we believe was the motorbike used by the suspect in the shooting. The Yamaha MT-09 Tracer motorbike was last seen on CCTV in the Ealing area, near Eaton Rise. If you have any recollection of seeing it on the day of the incident or afterwards, please call police as soon as possible.”

A manhunt for Jahmel Joseph began shortly after the shooting. According to court proceedings, police were able to trace him after receiving information about a red Mercedes vehicle he was known to use. The car triggered a traffic camera the following morning, prompting officers to intercept him. A high-speed chase ensued, ending in Tolson Road, Isleworth at 8:23am. A black bag recovered nearby is believed to have contained the murder weapon.

Joseph was arrested and charged on Saturday, 14 June with murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited weapon, and dangerous driving. He has been remanded in custody and is next scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on 2 September for a plea hearing. A three-week trial is provisionally set to begin on 20 October.

In a statement released through the Metropolitan Police, Mr Rodney’s family paid tribute to a man they described as “warm, funny, and loving.” They said, “It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we confirm the tragic loss of our beloved Jordan Oliver Rodney, who was taken from us far too soon. His kindness, generosity, and humour left a lasting impression on friends and family alike. Jordie brought joy to our lives every single day, and his absence leaves a hole that can never be filled.”

They added, “We will remember Jordie for the love he shared so freely, the laughter he inspired, and the way he made us all feel seen and valued. We ask for privacy as we grieve this devastating loss and whilst we work to come to terms with what has happened.”
