Detectives investigating a report of a sexual assault on a woman in Hanwell have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to.

The victim, who is in her twenties, told police that she was attacked on Park Road at around 11:50pm on Wednesday, 21 May. She is currently being supported by specialist officers.

She had been followed by a man when getting off the E1 bus, which takes a route from Ealing Broadway Station to Greenford Broadway.

As she alighted, he sexually assaulted her and then followed her up the road where he carried out another assault. He was then caught on CCTV running north on Park Road towards Browning Avenue and the E1 bus stop.

He is described as black, in his late twenties or early thirties, and approximately 5ft 11in tall, with a slim build. He has dark, curly hair and was captured on CCTV wearing a black jacket and navy blue, Nike t-shirt.

Detective Constable Teresa Moore, leading the Met’s investigation, said, “Women and girls should be safe to travel on public transport – and walk the streets of London – without being attacked.

“This incident highlights the opportunistic behaviour of the offender so it is really important we locate him as soon as possible.”

If you have any relevant information to share - particularly if you were on the E1 bus on Wednesday, 21 May between 11:45pm to just before midnight contact the police on 101 immediately and quote 697/21MAY.
