Jahmel Joseph also faces charge of injuring his brother June 19, 2025 The victim of a fatal shooting near Charing Cross Hospital last Wednesday night (11 June) has been named as Northolt resident Jordan Oliver Rodney. A man from Ealing has been charged with his murder. The 30-year-old, who lived in Northolt, died from a gunshot wound in hospital the following day. He had been found by emergency services on Claxton Grove at 11:19pm along with Omar Joseph who had also been shot but has since been discharged from hospital. Mr Rodneys' cousin, 28-year-old Jahmel Joseph of Eaton Rise, Ealing has been charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited weapon and dangerous driving. He appeared before a judge at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 17 June. At a hearing it was alleged that Mr Joseph shot Mr Rodney in the eye as well as injuring his brother Omar Joseph in the head and hand. The court was told that there had been a falling out at a wake being held for a younger relative. The prosecution stated that Mr Joseph arrived at the event on a motor-bike with a sawn-off shot gun and fired at his two relatives at point blank range as they were standing outside. Following the shooting, the police traced Mr Joseph having been given the registration of a red Mercedes he was known to drive. When it activated a traffic camera, officers came to detain him and a high speed chase ensued which ended in Tolson Road in Isleworth at 8:23am the morning after the attack. A black bag containing what is believed to be the murder weapon was recovered nearby. Mr Joseph was remanded into custody and a plea hearing was set for 2 September with a provisional three-week trial due to begin on 20 October. In a statement, Mr Rodney’s family said, “It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we confirm the tragic loss of our beloved Jordan Olivier Rodney, who was taken from us far too soon. “Jordan was a man who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was warm, funny, and loving. Always quick with a smile or a joke that could brighten the dark day. “His kindness, generosity, and humour left a lasting impression on friends and family alike. Our son, brother, uncle, and friend was so much more than the circumstances of his death. He brought joy to our lives every single day, and his absence leaves a hole that can never be filled. “We will remember Jordie for the love he shared so freely, the laughter he inspired, and the way he made us all feel seen and valued. We ask for privacy as we grieve this devastating loss and whilst we work to come to terms with what has happened. “We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this incredibly difficult time.”
