July 31, 2024 Two people have been remanded in custody after being convicted of over 23 offences of theft and an assault. The pair are believed to have been responsible for a spree of shoplifting across retail premises in Hanwell and West Ealing. The Met has published CCTV footage showing them emptying shelves at a supermarket in Hanwell. Not date is given for when the footage was filmed. Shortly afterwards they were both apprehended by the local police team and arrested and charged with over 30 offences. The Met Police said on social media, “Both suspects were persistent and prolific offenders that have been causing detrimental effect on the local community and were a public safety risk. “Great work by local neighbourhood officers to secure charges and get the offenders off our streets.” The police also reported the arrest of a woman wanted on call to prison outside Ealing Common Station on 24 July.
