A 20-year-old man from Hanwell has died after being shot last weekend.

The police found Sebastiaan James-Kraan with gunshot injuries after being called to Templeman Road at 2:10am on Sunday 9 June. They believe he became involved in a fight with a group of men on the road. He was hit by a single bullet.

He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on Wednesday (12 June).

A cordon was placed around the scene of the shooting and forensic officers were seen searching the area.

His family described him as “a kind, loving, gentle man with a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. A gentle giant with a heart of pure gold.”

They have asked to be allowed to grieve in privacy.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley who is leading the murder investigation said, "At this early stage in the investigation, we believe the victim was involved in an altercation with a group of men, resulting in the victim being shot once.

"I would like to speak to any witnesses who heard or saw anything in the Templeman Road area at around 02:00hrs on Sunday, 9 June."

Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, in charge of policing in the Ealing area, said, "I know that a death caused by gun crime will cause considerable concern in the local community.

“My thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim and my officers are doing everything to support the murder investigation.”
