House on Blakesley Avenue becomes area's most expensive house

The record price for a residential property in Ealing has been broken by the sale of a house in Blakesley Avenue for £3,190,000.
The sale of the seven bedroom home opposite Ealing Abbey exceeds the previous highest price paid for a property in Woodville Gardens in July 2011.

The property was marketed by the local branch of Hamptons who say they achieved over the asking price with two potential buyers bidding against each other.
The sale provides further evidence of a buoyant local property market which reached an all-time high monthly average price for the W5 post code area in August. 44 properties were sold at an average price of over £600,000. Even without the sale in Blakesley Road it would have been a record month.
Vikash Gandhi of haart estate agents in Ealing said, "It just goes to prove that there is still plenty of confidence in the sales market - contrary to what has been communicated in the media recently. We are currently selling more properties than ever before and urgently need more vendors."
In West Ealing (W13) the average price in August was £425,226 with 45 properties changing hands. The most expensive home sold in the area during the month was on Amherst Road going for £1,200,000. Another home on Mortimer Road sold for £1,000,000.
The August data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows prices unchanged leaving the average property value in England and Wales to £163,376.
London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 5.0% to £ 364,059 over the same period although prices were slightly down on the previous month.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during June 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 3 per cent to 56,077 compared with 57,702 in June 2011.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in June 2012 increased by 35 per cent to 647 from 478 in June 2011.
