A 21-year-old man from Ealing has been arrested after trying to conceal Class A drugs up his bottom.

In what is believed to be a case of cuckooing, in which a dealer resides in the home a vulnerable person, Cambridgeshire Police found Micah Strachan at an address in Dundee Close, Cambridge.

He initially refused to open the door but when officers forced entry they found he had £1,990 in cash.

When he was taken back to the station, a search revealed he had stuffed 150 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin in his bottom.

At Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday (21 February), Strachan, 21, of St Mary's Road was sentenced to a year and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Detective Constable James Collinwood, who investigated, said, “This case demonstrates the reality of drug dealing in Cambridge. It is not a glamorous way of life and often sees dealers putting their own health at risk to sell their product, not to mention the health of their vulnerable users.

“There is nowhere to hide in the county for drug dealers and those who seek to exploit the vulnerabilities of others.”
