A man from Northolt has become the fifth person to be charged in connection with a killing that took place in October.

33-year-old Steffan Gordon of Dehavilland Close, was arrested on Saturday, 17 December and, the following day, he was charged with murder, kidnap and possession of class A drugs.

He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 December where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 21 December.

The charge relates to the murder of 43-year-old Koray Alpergin who was found near to Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate in Loughton on the morning of 15 October by officers from Essex Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There had been an earlier appeal by the police to find the whereabouts of Mr Alpergin, who worked as a DJ on Turkish radio and had disappeared from his home in Enfield along with a 33-year-old woman. It was feared they had been kidnapped and the woman was later found unharmed.

They are next due to appear at the Old Bailey on 6 January 2023.

Two men, aged 29 and 34 , have been arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further enquiries.
