A man has been admitted to hospital after being attacked in Hanwell this Sunday night (31 July).

The victim, who is in his mid-thirties, is reported to be in a serious condition after suffering a head injury.

The incident occurred near the Clocktower on the Uxbridge Road shortly before 9pm.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Metropolitan Police spokesperson said, "Officers are investigating after a man was injured in an apparent assault. Officers were called at 8.57pm on Sunday, July 31, to Uxbridge Road, W7.

"A man, aged in his mid-30s, was reported to have suffered a head injury following an assault. He was taken to a central London hospital where he remains in a serious condition. A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody."
