Jackie Malton, the unexpected Star of Dark Son - The Hunt For a Serial Killer is appearing on BBC Breakfast TV tomorrow morning to talk about "The Real Prime Suspect" coming soon on CBS Reality. Jackie expects to be on T.V. between 8.40 am and 9.15 am. Jackie, a former Detective Chief Inspector at Scotland Yard played a pivotal role in Dark Son which was aired on B.B.C. Wales and B.B.C. 4 earlier this year trying to ascertain whether Abertillery born Harold Jones was the culprit responsible for the murder of 8 women in the Hammersmith district of London between 1959 and 1965. Scotland Yard are into the 8th month of gathering information and records before deciding whether to review the unsolved London murders.

This unclear and poorly illustrated consultation closes on Tues 27 Aug. Please fill it in. It is on the council website under current consultationsPlease make sure they know that you may wish to be dropped off or picked up at the station at night in the pouring rain because they are stopping this activity in these plans Let them know that they are favouring the 2-3% who cycle over every other group by providing them with parking just meters away from the ticket office. Tell them you don't want seats and trees to encourage loitering where they could make provision for the elderly,the disabledthose with luggage and pushchairs. Tell them that there were better worked up schemes before that they have thrown out of their pram wasting thousands.Tell them that making three lanes into one (YES ONE) might affect traffic flows throughout the whole area and that this might affect air quality.Thank you and quickly tell you mates.

Crime on Eccleston Road

Did anyone witness the gang of boys running down Eccleston Road? Some of them wearing balaclavas. Police came and cornered them off. It seemed like they were breaking into cars but not sure.

Devastated

The man murdered yesterday at Norwood Green was Allan Isichei (this is now in the public domain).My wife worked with Alan's wife Sandra at Christ the Saviour school for over twenty years.Sandra had been married to Allan for 44 years and they had three children and four grandchildren.I have rarely met a more gentle and humble man who lived for his family, his rugby (he was a vice-President and coach at Wasps) and his music (a wonderful saxophonist and vocalist who regularly gigged locally).I cannot believe that he is gone and became the victim of a senseless murder simply visiting his local pub.Thank you Raj Grover for all of your efforts in trying to save Allan.RIP Allan and my thoughts and prayers are with Sandra and her family.When will the violence stop?

Plans revealed yesterday indicate that here will be(1) 15 bus-stops(2) 180 cycle docking parking stations(3) 18 taxi spaces in the rankAnd No drop-off and pick-up facility at Ealing Broadway Station for car carried passengersNo Not None.We've waited almost 150 years for lifts to help guests with luggage, women with youngsters and buggies and the elderly and disabled to access the platforms and now we are stopped because we can't get near those lifts by car

Diesel cars

First off, I declare an interest, I drive a Diesel car a 2018 Euro 6.2d Ford.  Electric and hybrids simply do not have the range that I need and the majority of hybrid engines are simply too big for my needs.Why are the new, clean Diesel demonised along with the old 'smoking lumps'?The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) recently produced findings based on older data, which claimed that all new diesel cars fail EU NOx emissions standards in real-world driving, this is patently wrong as both ACEA and DEFRA have stated that the monitoring equipment used by ICCT cannot even be calibrated to read the low levels of emissions from Euro 6.2d engines. This standard is mandatory on all new Diesel vehicles from next month (I simply got in early)DEFRA have even started to replace older petrol engines with new Euro 6.2 Diesels as both the emissions and particulates are lower (in some cases by up to 22% on a like-for-like engine).But still councils 'demonise' all Diesels - why if not simply to raise revenue and treat all Diesels as a nice little earner.

Urban Foxes

Urban foxes have become a nuisance to the point something needs doing. In Northfields, they roam the streets, dig in the back garden, defecate wherever they like, they are not afraid of humans, squeal loudly and at a very high pitch throughout the night and fight each other. Yesterday a fox entered a house in Northfields through the back door.What are the council’s duties here? Obviously nothing is being done at present. Any ideas on action?These foxes are not cute cuddly animals as some less than sensible people think who choose to feed them which exacerbates the issue. They are vermin and need removing in some way.

Volunteers needed for community school in Ealing

I volunteer at a community school in Ealing teaching English to adults in the local community of all abilities. We keep growing in student numbers, which is fantastic, but we need more volunteer teachers to support us. We don't require experience, full training and support is provided. All you need is a spare Monday or Wednesday evening (18:45-21:00) and a willingness to help others. We're also looking for a volunteer admin assistant (ideally able to commit to both evenings). Have your say on Ealing Broadway Station"improvements"?

I am told that no one understands my post "Age shall not weary them etc". What I hope I can make clear is that for many of us the proposals for the public realm at Ealing Broadway station will make life more difficult for many of us. On that basis the proposals cannot be considered improvements. See press release in news section.The plans make it easy for the most able bodied ie cyclists to park within metres of the station entrance and yet provides no planned drop-off or pick-up point even for the most disabled. This contrary to British Standard guidance for station forecourts. Many of us fall between those two categories or may become less able bodied as we fall pregnant, need to use a push-chair, carry cases or a use a crutch, stick or wheelchair.. Ealing Broadway Station won't be for us. This after millions have been spent bringing all passengers up to pavement level without steps. Have your say. Phone your councillors phone numbers in Around Ealing. Or if you are really clever try to find your way through the prize-winning consultation document on the council Website with a drawing showing no detail. I am trying to be fair but you couldn't make this up could you?

Conrol Parking Permit Charges

Has any one been overcharged for their annual resident parking permit?My permit was quoted as being reduced from £83 to £75 due to my car being low admission vehicle. I went onto their new web site Tarantopermits to renew my permit and was charged an additional £50 for an additional vehicle (no details given by them) that I am supposed to have. I Tried contacting them by phone and was told by a recorded message to use the website I obtained there phone number from. I then emailed them and received a auto reply stating they would get back to me with in 10 days. Two weeks later I'm still waiting. So what should have been a £75 renewal turned out to be a £125 rip off.

Volunteer at the Ealing Half Marathon 2019

Ealing Half Marathon still needs about 100 volunteers for this years event. You don’t have to be a runner to enjoy Ealing’s biggest event of the year. Last year, hundreds of volunteers got involved and had a great time making Ealing’s Half Marathon such a wonderful success for the runners and spectators alike resulting in the event winning the accolade of the Number One Best Half Marathon 2014, 2015 & 2016 at The Running Awards.This year we’ll be putting together an even bigger volunteer team of 700, looking after the race village in Lammas Park, and out on the roads of Ealing guiding the runners and helping local residents. It’s a fun & rewarding experience for all and we’d love you to get involved! You will need to be able to give between 4 to 6 hours on the day depending on where you are volunteering. Age does weary us.

The young staff manning the recent Heathrow Airport Expansion Display on Ealing Common were surprised that although the Elizabeth Line had step free access to the trains the stations' forecourts at Ealing Broadway and West Ealing had no facility to pick-up and drop-off the disabled, those with luggage, pushchairs and the walking elderly. This is contrary to the British Standard for the design for station forecourts for access for the disabled.Only two Tube stations have step-free access in Ealing. One Acton town has a lift that cannot be used to drop off passengers illegally because LBE have a CCTV camera operating there. This generated fines for drivers who try to drop off passengers who have difficulty with stairs.Ealing's transport portfolio holder and senior officer assume that they might never get old like Peter Pan and need some help to be able to access our trains. I have written to Rt Hon Nusrat Ghani MP Accessibility Minister just  10 days ago complaining of this stupidity. The other body who might help are Transport for London who have a party in Dean Gardens this Saturday 20th July. The focus of this is to spend large amounts of dosh to improve the park but wasn't large amounts spent on it recently when it was out of action for 9 months. Perhaps they are Peter Pan-like too. Certainly they are like Nero hoping to feed cyclists to lorries and buses down the Uxbridge Road; another numptie idea.And all this electronic parking stuff ..all designed for the young. Now with libraries under threatPerhaps now is the time to up sticks and go to Torquay or Eastbourne. Clearly we aren't wanted in Ealing.
