Brilliant already has plans for a new venue in The Green Quarter
March 18, 2025 A landmark Southall restaurant is set to close this April after half a century of serving diners in the area. Fans of Brilliant Restaurant on Western Road need not despair, however, as plans are already in place for a new Brilliant Gastro nearby in The Green Quarter Development. It will be the anchor tenant in Parkside Yards, at the centre of the mixed-use development. The new restaurant will be led by Dipna Anand who was already running the other businesses under the Brilliant brand including catering and a cookery school. The Brilliant name came originally from a restaurant in a Kenyan hotel run in the fifties by Bishen Dass Anand. Brilliant Restaurant, which serves Punjabi cuisine with a Kenyan twist, was opened by his sons in 1975 after the family moved to the UK. Dipna is the daughter of Gula Anand one of the founders of the restaurant.
She says: “It may be the end of an era for Brilliant Southall, but after 50 years, the Brilliant brand has gained an iconic status in Indian dining, and we have to ensure that it is constantly evolving to both reflect the preferences of diners, and the food I love to eat, so there’s something delicious for everyone.”
