The trial has started at the Old Bailey of an Ealing man accused of murdering a 52 year old after an attack outside the Shannakee pub in Ealing Broadway last year.

31 year old Keith Stewart from Windsor Road denies murdering Seamus Gill.

52 year old Mr Gill, originally from Ireland, died in hospital three days after the attack.

The father-of-two lived with his wife Anne in Hanwell.

Mr Gill was knocked to the floor while on a night out on Sunday, December 6, 2009.

The Old Bailey was told that 31 year old Keith Stewart struck im so hard that he fell to the ground like a ton of bricks. The court was told that Stewart then stamped on his face while he lay unconscious on the ground.

His son Fergal and a friend had already been knocked to the ground by Stewart according to witnesses.

The trial continues.
