Another office building in the centre of Ealing looks set to be converted to residential use.

An application (243024PACBSD) has been submitted to the council by Greeneedle Ltd for prior approval of a change of use of Craven House on Uxbridge Road into 81 flats.

Commercial lettings continue at the flexible office space with parking close to the junction with St. Leonard’s Road. It is also close to the Exchange Plaza site where an application has been submitted for a 20-storey high student accommodation block. Potential tenants are currently being advised that any new leases must have a mutual rolling break from September 2024.

All the flats would be offered for sale at market price with no affordable component as this is not required for conversions made under permitted development rules. 73 would be one bedroom flats with an average size of 39 square metres compared to the statutory minimum of 37. There would be eight two bedroom units.

The building can be access from Uxbridge Road at the front and Craven Road at the rear with car parking at the front. It is next to the Ibis Style hotel with Cavalier House, a residential building on the other side. Unit sizes would range from the statutory minimum to around 10% larger.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
