Perivale Brewery is preparing to celebrate Horsenden Hill in style this September, unveiling a new exhibition of original papercraft artwork created by award-winning artist Owen Gildersleeve. The event takes place on Saturday 5 September at 2pm at Horsenden Farm, where the brewery is based, and marks the launch of Perivale’s striking new can designs inspired by the hill’s contours, colours and layered history.
Gildersleeve, known for his intricate hand-cut paper compositions, created a series of artworks that form the visual identity of Perivale’s refreshed “core four” beers. Each piece was cut by hand, photographed, and transformed into the bold “P” emblem now appearing on cans of Veri Pale, Veri Hazy, Veri Crisp and Veri Dark. The exhibition will showcase the original artworks in their full detail, offering visitors a rare chance to see the craft behind the branding.
The afternoon includes a live Q&A with Gildersleeve and Perivale’s founders, exploring the creative process behind the designs and the story of how Horsenden Hill became central to the brewery’s identity. A guided tour of the hill will follow, highlighting its rich archaeological and cultural history — from Neolithic discoveries to Roman, Saxon, Tudor and Victorian traces that shape the landscape today.
Perivale Brewery’s co-founder Christian Perrins said the collaboration was a natural fit. “We wanted our new cans to celebrate this amazing place we call home. The vibrancy, the colours, the layers of history, and the hand-made nature of things. Owen was our dream collaborator, and we were thrilled he was up for working with us.”
The brewery has long championed the arts, founded by members of the double Ivor Novello-nominated band The Leisure Society and previously hosting illustrator Chris Riddell for live drawing sessions and a large outdoor mural at Horsenden Farm. The exhibition continues Perivale’s commitment to creative partnerships rooted in local heritage.
The event is free to attend, with plenty of beer on hand and a warm welcome for visitors.
