The streets of Ealing were transformed into a vibrant celebration of athleticism and community spirit this Sunday (28 September), as nearly 4,500 runners and thousands of spectators gathered for the Ealing Half Marathon 2025. The event delivered a day filled with personal triumphs, charitable impact, and festive energy.

Known for its scenic route and enthusiastic local support, the race once again lived up to its reputation. Near-perfect weather conditions added to the electric atmosphere, with cheers echoing throughout the 13.1-mile course.

In the elite competition, Joe Wigfield of Team Morespace claimed victory in the men’s race, finishing in an impressive 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 40 seconds. Alice Braham of Ealing Eagles Running Club thrilled the home crowd with a commanding win in the women’s category, crossing the finish line at 1 hour, 17 minutes, and 28 seconds.

However, the event was far more than a showcase of elite talent. Runners of all backgrounds and abilities took part, including first-time participants, charity fundraisers, and seasoned club athletes. Their collective efforts raised over £100,000 for a range of local and national charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Meadow House Hospice, and Shooting Star Children’s Hospice.

Race Director Sandra Courtney praised the community’s involvement, stating, “This race belongs to Ealing. The runners were incredible, but what makes this event so special is the way our residents, volunteers, and partners come together year after year. The energy along the route was phenomenal, and we’re so proud of everyone who played a part in making today such a success.”

The weekend also featured the Ealing Mini Mile, offering young athletes a chance to participate and shine. Meanwhile, Walpole Park was transformed into a lively race village, complete with live music, food stalls, and entertainment, creating a festival-like atmosphere for attendees of all ages.

Since its founding in 2012 as a legacy of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Ealing Half Marathon has grown into a multi-award-winning event that continues to attract runners from across the UK. Organisers have already announced that registration for the 2026 race, scheduled for Sunday, 27 September 2006, opens on Monday, 29 September 2025 at 1pm.
