A proactive policing operation targeting thefts from motor vehicles in Ealing Broadway has led to the arrest of a suspect now linked to several offences across the area.

Officers from Ealing’s Neighbourhoods and Town Centre Team were deployed last week following concerns raised by residents about a rise in vehicle crime. Plain‑clothes officers were sent to patrol key locations, including Springbridge Car Park, where the operation quickly produced results.

During the patrol, PCs Verta and Rice identified two vehicles with fresh damage. After reviewing CCTV with support from PCSO Nesbitt, officers obtained a clear image of a suspected offender, which was circulated to teams across the borough.

Shortly afterwards, officers on patrol in West Ealing — Sgt Love, PCSO Nalder and PC Stack — recognised the individual from the image and made an arrest. Police recovered several suspected stolen items, including bank cards and jewellery.

Further enquiries have since linked the suspect to four additional thefts from motor vehicles in the local area. The individual has been charged and is due to appear in court.

Officers have also progressed an application for a Criminal Behaviour Order, with a hearing scheduled.

Police say high‑visibility patrols and targeted operations will continue, and that work is ongoing to identify other suspects believed to be involved in similar offences.

Residents are encouraged to continue reporting suspicious activity or concerns to assist ongoing investigations.
