An appeal is being made to find the whereabouts of a man who absconded in Ealing while on escorted leave from a mental health facility.

43-year-old Matthew Barnard was with mental health staff at the Barclays Bank on Ealing Broadway this Tuesday (23 April) when fled shortly after midday.

He was being detained under Section 37 and Section 41 of the Mental Health Act following a conviction for assault.

Officers and medical professionals are concerned at his lack of access to medication and the risk he may pose without it.

Anyone who sees Matthew Barnard should not approach him. Instead, call 999 immediately quoting ref 2984/23APR24.
