Local family raising funds in memory of teenage friend
A local family are taking an epic mountain climb next week in memory of a teenage friend who died unexpectedly. Linda and Gottfried Panzer and their son, Christian, 17, were close friends of Tom Clabburn, who died three years ago from an undiagnosed heart condition, he would have been 18 this year. The Panzer's decided to mark the occasion (and Linda's 50th birthday) by taking a sponsored climb through the Alps. They are aiming to raise money for a charity which aims to stop young deaths. Tom's family and friends have already raised over £30,000 so far for for the charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and sponsored local screenings. The Panzers, from Ealing will have a local guide for the 125k trip from July 12-19 and helicopter insurance in case they need to be rescued.
