Members of the family of Anton Hyman, who was found murdered in the River Brent in Greenford on last week held a vigil for the teenager on Monday afternoon. They were joined by friends and members of the community.

In the early hours of the same morning police made a series of arrests in the West Ealing area in relation to Anton's death. Warrants were executed at two addresses in Drayton Green. Three 17 year old youths, a 15 year old youth and a 19 year old woman were arrested. Later in the day a 21 year old man was also taken into custody. They were later bailed to return in June pending further enquiries.

The body of 17 year old Anton, of Joseph Avenue, Acton, was found by a member of the public lying face down in the River Brent near High Lane, Greenford. Anton had suffered multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound to the back. The Marine Support Unit attended and the body was recovered from the river.

Anton was last seen at about 8pm on Saturday 20th March outside KFC Restaurant in Ealing Broadway where we believe he got into a minicab on his own.

Anton was black, five feet six-and-a-half inches tall and of slim build. When his body was found, he was wearing distinctive bright multi-coloured wooly gloves, blue and white Timberland boots, dark coloured jeans, a dark grey fleece, a green tee shirt and a green shirt with 'Iceberg' written on the breast pocket.

The murder investigation is being led by DCI Colin Sutton of the Specialist Crime Directorate, based at Barnes.
