Market continues to be strong in price and volume terms

In Ealing and West Ealing, a total of 114 properties were sold during August, with W5 having a particularly busy and profitable month for sellers. Here, the average transaction was valued at a substantial £580,354, with as many as 6 properties fetching over a million pounds. Figures for W13 were lower, with the average property price at £491,207 and only a couple of sales reaching 7 figures.
The highest sale of the month, for either postcode, was the £2,225,000 12 Woodfield Road in Ealing. West Ealing's most expensive property, at one and a quarter million pounds, was 25 Hollingbourne Gardens.
The August data from Land Registry's House Price Index shows an annual price increase of 7.1% in London to £389,066. Nationally there was a 1.3% increase which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £164,654. Repossession volumes decreased by 21 per cent in June 2013 to 1,131 compared with 1,423 in June 2012.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during June 2013, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales increased by 1.0% to 60,168 compared with 59,854 in June 2012. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in June 2013 increased by 16% to 788 from 679 in the same month of last year.
