Mixed picture for local home prices during the month

The latest numbers from the Land Registry show a mixed picture for the Ealing property market.
In the W5 post code area the average transaction price moved upwards during October to £454,800. 61 properties were sold during the month with two going for over one million pounds. The most expensive was a penthouse in Carlton Road costing £1,500,000.
In West Ealing (W13) the average price fell from September but that month had seen an unusual number of higher priced properties changing hands. There were 40 properties sold at an average price of £423,524. Two properties went for over a million with the most expensive on Kent Avenue costing £1,500,000.
According the Land Registry's October report the average price in London was £340,308 which was down by 1.6% on September. Despite this prices are still up over the last 12 months - London is the only area of the UK in which there has been a rise
The October data from Land Registry's national House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 3.2% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £159,999.

The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
