West Ealing continues to outpace W5 post code area

The latest figures from the Land Registry show that West Ealing property prices have apparently continued to move higher than those in W5.
Since the end of May the number of higher priced properties in W5 has fallen off after a surge in such sales earlier in the year. The 47 properties sold since then have averaged just £395,561.
In West Ealing on the other hand 38 properties sold at an average of £469,338. This includes the sale of a house in St. Leonard's Road which was the third most expensive property ever sold in that post code area at £1,815,000
The July data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 2.1 per cent which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £163,049. By contrast, London prices over the same period rose by 1.3% to £346,416 .
The most up-to-date figures available show that during May 2011, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 10 per cent to 46,870 from 52,170 in May 2010. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million decreased by 44 per cent between May 2010 and May 2011, from 464 to 262..
