The recently refurbished North Star pub not only has a new look but also a new commitment to reducing its impact on the environment.

The venue by the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre was recently closed for a month after a makeover which saw a range of changes including all new soft furnishings, an outdoor dining area and a redesigned stage area which will allow it to showcase more live music.

The pub first opened in 1851 as a beer shop and the facelift aimed to keep the traditional look and feel of the pub. It will continue to serve food, a range of craft beer, cocktails and host music events.

Staff at The North Star are also founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum, a non-profit organisation, which aims to enable its members to reach sustainability targets with more speed and efficiency. Using roadmaps backed by peers, government, and leading sustainability experts its goal is to reduce emissions and create a Roadmap to Net Zero, to emit zero waste to landfill by 2030 and reduce food waste by as much as 50% by 2030.

Redesign aims to maintain traditional feel of the pub

Speaking about the refurbishment, general manager at The North Star, Sarah Corcoran said, ‘’The refurbishment has been a long time coming, and guests can expect to see a fresh new outside space, a vibrant interior and a soulful atmosphere all of our guests have come to know and love.‘’
