A range of events for families is being planned for the Autumn by the Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery this Autumn including art workshops across Ealing and a Spooktacular at the house.

It is also the final few days of the Julian Opie exhibition which closes on Sunday 24 October. Discover, draw, learn and think with the family trails to find out about the artist and explore Pitzhanger Manor available free with entry. There is also a downloadable public art trail to visit Julian Opie’s artworks across London. Book tickets here.

A series of art workshops are being organised by Pitzhanger in high street locations across Ealing borough from 11am – 2.30pm on Saturday 16 October at Oldfields Circus, Northolt, Monday 25 October at Boston Manor Road, Hanwell and Tuesday 26 October at The Avenue, West Ealing.
These free Creature Mobile workshops are part of the Love Ealing, Love Local event programme provided by Ealing’s High Street Task Force. Get creative making a mobile inspired by the creatures inside and outside Pitzhanger and Walpole Park. They are suitable for children aged 5+ (smaller and older siblings welcome) and materials provided. They are being run on a drop-in basis (first-come-first-served), with limited numbers of tickets are available to pre-book.

On Thursday 28 October from 4pm to 7pm there is the Pitzhanger Spooktacular at the Manor to celebrate Halloween. Go on a gothic storytelling adventure throughout the Manor, create a monster mask inspired by the Monk’s Dining Room, hunt for scary fruit and veg in our kitchen garden and discover the magical night-time world of bats and learn how to hear them and where to see them in Walpole Park. Free with admission.

Fortnightly child-led sensorial and creative activities Little Builders takes place in a relaxed play space, inspired by a combination of Montessori philosophy, the architecture and Pitzhanger’s exhibitions. They are on Thursday 21 October, Wednesday 3 November and Thursday 18 November. Each session takes place from 10.30am to 1pm and is centred on a specific theme. Tickets cost £5 and you can book in advance or drop-in (includes general admission to Pitzhanger) .

The Pitzhanger Perspectives series continues with Angellica Bell and Konnie Huq on Tuesday 2 November at 6.30pm. Tickets for the online event cost £10/£7. Join the TV presenters to hear a discussion about how the Ealing childhood friends both conquered children’s TV and built media careers. Chaired by Lorraine Heggessey, former Controller of BBC1.

On Wednesday 3 November as part of the London Luminaries series, Painters, Princes and Personalities: Soane the Entertainer will be taking place online at 7pm. The talk by museum director Clare Gough is free with an optional £5 donation. She introduces some of the beau monde that graced Sir John Soane’s table at Pitzhanger, casting light on how he used these parties to show off his skill to potential clients.
