Danielle Ward's twisted sensibilities and darkly absurd humour took the comedy world by storm when she burst onto the scene in 2004. In 2006 she won the Time Out Critics Choice Best Newcomer Award, and she previews her new Edinburgh show 'Lies' at the Drayton this Friday, (July 24).

Ward already had huge success at the Fringe with her critically acclaimed show Psister Psycho, which was nominated for a Chortle Award for Best Show, and with her 2008 show Danielle Ward in Glorious Technicolour that displayed her ‘bone-dry wit… like a Nick Cave album recited by a cheerful would-be Dorothy Parker, according to Sunday Times critic.

As well as being a circuit regular, Danielle is the founder, compere, and hip priestess of London's critically acclaimed Freakshow, a no-holds barred comedy cabaret dedicated to the absurd, eccentric and perverse.

In addition to her stand-up, Danielle has built a reputation as an exciting and original writer and performer, appearing on Mock the Week (BBC Two), Charlie Brooker’s Newswipe (BBC Four), regularly on BBC Radio 1's flagship comedy show The Milk Run, writing for Radio 4's The Now Show, The News Quiz, Radio 2's The Day the Music Died, as well as Comedy Shorts on BBC7, and has performed sketch and character comedy at a number of theatres across London including the Battersea Arts Centre, Etcetera Theatre, Canal Cafe and The Old Red Lion. She is currently working on her 2009 Edinburgh show

She is joined on the bill by the fantastically fun musical comedy duo Brian Damage and Krystall, plus two up and coming acts from the London circuit.
