A six bedroom, detached property close to Ealing Cricket Ground has broken previous local records and been sold today (25th February) for £4 million pounds.

The previous record was for a house on Carlton Road W5 which sold in October for £3.7 million.

The Westbury Road property, marketed by London Estates, has been completely refurbished at a cost of £1.25m by local architect and interior designer, Chris Cook.

It's described as ''An exceptionally well proportioned and luxurious family home situated on one of Ealing’s premier streets.''

It has a 150ft lawned garden and a self-contained summer house.

It's been sold to a professional couple who are relocating to the W5 area from Highgate.

Westbury Road has 47 houses and flats on it with a average current value of £815,625, compared to an average property value of £627,043 for W5.

There have been 4 sales on Westbury Road over the last 5 years with an average house price paid of £384,237.

Estate agents believe this sale is a reflection of ever increasing market confidence in the area.

John Rigg, Director at London Estates, says Ealing's now a real rising star in the property market.

He points to points to luxury developments such as Dickens Yard as well as the prospect of Crossrail and says buyers are flocking to the 'Queen of the Suburbs'.

He says:

'' Ealing has for too long been underachieving in the property stakes, but it is now a rising star, and instead of being seen as Chiswick's poor relation, it is fast becoming the go to area for people who are looking for investment in quality stock, with great schools, open spaces and soon to be the best transport links in west London.''
