The Samaritans 24/7 National Smart car tour sponsored by Admiral Insurance and Smart has been visiting every Samaritans branch in the country.

Each branch supplied two drivers as part of a huge relay team.

Roger Mullins, Chair of the Ealing Samaritans says they also had tube station collections locally around Ealing and Hammersmith which raised around £760.

''As a local branch we are self supporting, and are also looking to increase our income from local business donations, and of course equally important  find new recruits to help us provide our service.''

Unfortunately en route to Uxbridge the branded car hit a kerb and punctured two tyres.

Mr Mullins says: ''Luckily no one was hurt but it delayed the car's arrival at the Ealing branch by almost three hours.''

Earlier, Georgia and Ayesha were pictured (see right) with Steve Pound, the MP for Ealing North who has always championed the Ealing Samaritans.

The new Smart cars were supplied by Mercedes Smart of Brentford who were happy to attend even at that very late hour to give their support, and welcome the Samaritans randed Smart car to Ealing, before Georgia and Ayesha drove it on to Putney.
