Eric Leach's Ealing Covid-19 Latest Update | |
Secrecy Surrounds who has received the vaccine in Ealing Thanks to Rupa Huq MP we know that Pfizer Covid-19 vaccinations began in Victoria Hall, Ealing Town Hall on Friday 18 December 2020. Anecdotally it seems that a few elderly residents have been vaccinated in some of the 75 GP surgeries in Ealing. There is no clarity as to who is running the vaccination effort in Ealing or how many vaccines were made available for Ealing residents. As apparently we are not to be told who is running the vaccination programme, there’s no short term or mid term information as to who and where anyone will be vaccinated in Ealing over the coming weeks. According to Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group 8,000 people in north west London (including Ealing) were vaccinated during the week of 14 to 20 December 2020. NHS Mental Health Support in Ealing People can self-refer to Ealing’s NHS Improving Access for Psychological Therapies (IAPT) on 020 3313 5660 or on this link. The Royal College of Psychiatrists has recently predicted that 10 million people nationally, including 1.5 million children, will need new or additional mental health support – all because of Covid-19. Three of the Least Used Rail Stations in London are in Ealing The Office of Rail and Road has issued statistics about railway station usage. South Greenford is London’s least used rail station. Drayton Green and Castle Bar Park are also in the 10 least used stations in London. One does wonder about of the future of the Greenford Shuttle which runs for West Ealing Station to Greenford Station. These three rarely used stations are the only intermediate stations on this route. The Watermans cinema has proved very popular with elderly Ealing residents. Although currently closed by Covid-19 Tier 4 restrictions, the centre has introduced young and old to theatre, dance, cabaret and live music for decades. Some rare good news.
