A fire has taken hold in a restaurant in Ealing this Thursday afternoon (25 April). Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been called to the premises on Hanger Lane.

Part of the first floor of the two-storey building in which Fawanees Lebanese restaurant is based was alight.

Station Manager Alan Brand said: "Traffic in the area is very heavy as Hanger Lane is closed at the roundabout junction with the A4005.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible as it's exceptionally busy given the time of day as well."

The Brigade was called at 3.09pm. Fire crews from Wembley, Park Royal and Acton fire stations are at the scene.

Nobody is reported to have been hurt in the fire.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
