A major operation by the Met Police to target drug dealers has seen significant activity in the area recently.

Operation Yamata has conducted a number of raids and arrested what police have described as two known violent offenders on 25 July with a firearm and heroin seized.

On Wednesday, 26 July, 25-year-old Awale Olad from Ealing was convicted at Isleworth Crown Court of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs and sentenced to 5 years’ imprisonment.

The police are saying this is a huge success for the operation and has disrupted serious organised crime and offending right across West London.

The team said, "We have a message for people involved in county lines and drug dealing; we will trace & come and get you.”

Operation Yamata brings together the skills and experience of Specialist Crime officers with the knowledge and expertise of local officers. The Met says it reshapes the approach to tackling gang and drug-related violence by working to identify and attribute active London drug lines through communications data and engagement with users, resulting in swift enforcement activity.

It is funded by the Home Office and started in Hackney and Tower Hamlets but has been expanded across London. It has built on the work of a previous task force which was targeting county lines operations.
