Another woman in custody after incident in Boddington Gardens

A 58-year-old woman has died after being stabbed near Gunnersbury Avenue this Monday afternoon (15 August).
The police say they were called to reports of a disturbance at Boddington Gardens at 3.37pm. Boddington Gardens close to Acton Town station north of Gunnersbury Lane.
A 58-year-old woman was found with stab wounds and a London’s Air Ambulance helicopter was called. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder. She was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury before being transferred to police custody where she remains. The arrested woman and the victim were known to each other.
A man, also aged 21, was arrested at the scene but has since been released with no further action to be taken against him.
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Shirley, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said, “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who has lost her life in this incident. They will continue to receive our full support.
“While an early arrest in this investigation is a positive development, we are still keen to build a picture of what happened.
“I would appeal to anyone who lives nearby or who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward if they saw or heard anything unusual.
“No piece of information is insignificant.”
