A highly organised drug dealing operation was brought down when police raided a house in Northolt and found over 100 kilos of cocaine.

The swoop was part of a proactive operation which ultimately led to the seizure of illegal narcotics worth over £10 million.

The gang were transferring drugs between London and Birmingham in October 2020 unaware that they were under surveillance by the police.

On 23 October 2020, Scott Bradley was seen to meet with Barrie Wilkinson in a secluded road in Old Windsor. A package was handed over to Bradley and he then drove north in a VW van on the M40 towards Birmingham. At Warwick services, Met officers stopped Bradley and carried out a search of the van which revealed a sophisticated concealment containing seven kilos of cocaine. Intelligence gleaned from Bradley’s satnav suggested he had been heading to the Solihull area of Birmingham.

On 29 October 2020, Wilkinson was seen to go to a shopping centre in Staines where he bought a number of sports holdalls. He was later seen placing holdalls, that appeared to contain items, into a Ford Transit van in the Walton upon Thames area.

This van was driven to Northolt where four holdalls were removed by co-defendants David Green and local man Darrell Logan. The property to which they took the bags was raided by uniformed officers who arrested them both. It was at this address that the biggest seizure was made, with the recovery of 104 kilos of cocaine. Wilkinson was subsequently arrested in a car park at the rear of his address in Egham.

The last two defendants were arrested over the following months when officers linked the VW caddy van that was being driven by Bradley at the time of his arrest on 23 October 2020 to Stephen Glynn and Carl Thompson. Information uncovered during the investigation proved that Glynn and Thompson, like Bradley, had been acting as drugs couriers whilst they were using this van.

On Tuesday, 30 March, all six men pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Supply Class A drugs. Sentencing of the gang took place on Tuesday, 11 May at Southwark Crown Court with all of them receiving custodial sentences including 26-year-old Darrell Logan of Sentinel Close, Northolt who was imprisoned for nine years.

Commander Richard Smith, said: “This was a successful and intricate investigation and in total, these six defendants were responsible for transporting millions of pounds worth of drugs into and out of London.

“The drugs seized on the day of arrest were valued at between £4.1m and £4.9m wholesale, and at least £10.9m street value.

“Thanks to the excellent work of our officers and police staff, a number of serious offenders have been removed from the streets.

“There is an inextricable link between drugs and serious violence, and the Met continues to bear down on those intent on causing harm to our communities through crime. The team should be commended for their diligence in removing these individuals from the streets.”
