Bit one and kicked female officer after smashing up fast food restaurant
A 29-year-old man has received a suspended sentence after assaulting police officers and smashing up a restaurant. In the early hours of Sunday 19 September, the police were called to a fast food restaurant on South Road in Southall. PCs Ashta and Fisher-Norton were first on the scene and they found Romadan Adem of Ilex Road, Willesden drunk and upturned chairs and damaged furniture on the premises. PC Ashta initially arrested Adem for being drunk and disorderly but he turned violent and proceeded to bite the constable on the forearm. Four officers were required to restrain him and, as he was being placed in the rear of a marked police van, he kicked out at Pc Fisher-Norton, striking her in the chest. Adem pleaded guilty at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on 19 April to assaulting two emergency workers. He was sentenced to 20 weeks’ imprisonment suspended for 18 months and handed a total of £257 in costs and fines.
