A 22-year-old man has been arrested after a raid by the local Safer Neighbourhoods Teams discovered a cannabis factory in a house in Greenford.

On 24 February, officers from the Northolt and Greenford teams conducted a section 23 misuse of drugs act search at a property on Robin Hood Way, Greenford after a warrant was obtained from Uxbridge Magistrates Court.

After forcing entry into the property, the officers found a significant number of cannabis plants in various states of growth with some cut plants drying and a large quantity ready to be packed and distributed.

A 22-year-old man was located in an upstairs room and arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and taken to a West London police station.

Assistance was required from the electricity company as the wiring in the house had been pulled from the walls and ceiling and left in a dangerous condition.

Police Sergeant Matthew Slaney, Greenford Safer Neighbourhoods Team said, ‘Thanks to the good work of PCs Lewis and MacWilliam, who gathered all the intelligence to obtain this warrant, we have managed to secure and destroy a significant amount of cannabis before it could make its way onto our streets.

“These warrants are obtained with the help of members of the public who, calling 101 or reporting online, provide us with information in relation to suspicious activity.”
