Joanna Borucka was last seen alive over a month ago The woman whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase in Southall last week has been named as 41-year-old Joanna Borucka. She is a Polish national who was last seen alive on 20 November. A decorator working on a hostel room above the Shabana Hair and Beauty Salon on The Crescent found her body on Friday, 18 December. Neighbours had previously reported a smell coming from the premises. A post-mortem examination has since been carried out but at this stage, a specific cause of death has not been confirmed. The police are keen to hear from anyone who has information about her disappearance or the circumstances that led to her death. Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide), said, “News of Joanna’s death will no doubt come as a shock to those who knew her, particularly so given the circumstances in which her body was found. “We continue to keep an open mind and are considering all possible lines of enquiry. There is a gap between when we believe Joanna was last seen and when her body was found. “It’s important that we are able to speak to anyone who has information about her recent movements. If you know what she was doing, who she was with or anything else – no matter how small – please get in touch.” Anyone with information is urged to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 4319/18DEC.
