Body found by decorator after in hostel on The Crescent

The police have launched an investigation into what they are describing as an unexplained death after a body was found in Southall.

Although the Met have given no further specifics on the deceased, local sources suggest that a woman’s body was discovered by a decorator in a suitcase on Friday afternoon (18 December).

Neighbours had been reporting a smell from a hostel above a parade of shops in the Crescent near the train station for up to two weeks.

Forensics teams are on the scene and the police have been asking local businesses to provide any CCTV footage they might have.

A Met Police spokesperson said, “Police were called at 14:53hrs on Friday, 18 December to an address in The Crescent, Southall UB1, after a person was found deceased.

“Enquiries to identify the deceased are ongoing. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”

No arrests have been made at this stage.
