A Efit has been released of a woman police wish to speak to in connection with an aggravated burglary which took place in Northolt earlier this year.

Officers believe that the distinctive look of the woman who was black with blond dreadlocks should make it possible to identify her.

Akshata Solankhi lives in a flat on Taywood Road with her husband, mother and two year old daughter. At around 1pm in the afternoon of Friday, 31 January the family were at home after returning from a shopping trip when there was a knock on the door.

Akshata says, “She was very friendly and said to me ‘hello’ from outside. I opened the door and for seven minutes we chat together about the religion.”

As she was speaking to the woman, her daughter came towards the door and distracted her. At this point three men wearing balaclavas and masks forced their way into the property.

One of them threatened to kill the Akshata’s daughter with a screwdriver unless their valuables were handed over immediately. Akshata, desperate to get them out of the house, took them to her bedroom and gave them jewellery worth thousands of pounds. The items were family heirlooms which had been passed down through generations. She also offered them her phone and laptop but they weren’t interested but demanded more valuables. When told that they had been given everything they said, “If in future we see you have more, we will kill you.”

The crime was featured on the Crimewatch Roadshow on the BBC this Wednesday, 23 September.

Detective Sergeant Neil Hudson, from West Area Command Unit, said, “Thankfully both victims weren’t physically harmed but they have been left terribly distraught by the callous actions of these people.

“The incident is even more disturbing by the fact that a young child was threatened with a weapon during the attack. I urge anyone who recognises this woman to contact us immediately.”

Anyone who has information that could assist police is asked to call 101 with reference Cad 4170/31Jan.
