A firearm was discharged in a Northolt takeaway this Tuesday evening (2 June).

Police were called to Church Road at around 6.40pm after residents heard gunshots and there were reports of a man with a gun.

Three men were seen chasing another man along Church Road and then into the restaurant where the shots were fired. They then fled back along Church Road. The men were described as black and wearing balaclavas.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch. In particular, they are asking for help to identify who fled scene.

There were no reports of any injuries and enquires are continuing. At this time there have been no arrests.

Following the shooting a Section 60 order was granted for the UB5 and UB1 postcode areas which gave the police temporary extra powers to stop and search..

DI Dan McInerney, leading the investigation, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard what happened on Church Road. This happened in broad daylight and on a main road. If you were in the vicinity and have any information, no matter how small, please do get in contact.”
