29-year-old Amandeep Sandhu of Townsend Road, Southall has been charged with the murder of Sukhjinder Singh, also known as Gurinder Singh. He has appeared in custody at Hendon Magistrates' Court.

Four other men, arrested in connection with the murder have been bailed to return, pending further enquiries, on dates in mid to late September.

33-year-old Mr Singh died after being stabbed in Spikes Bridge Road, Southall just after 11pm on Saturday, 30 July.

Detectives investigating his murder want help from the public in identifying a vehicle which was seen in the area immediately before Sukhjinder was attacked.

He was taken to hospital after being found injured but was pronounced dead at 6.30am the following morning. A post mortem gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

An incident room has opened in Hendon under Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

DCI Lawson said: "I need to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, especially in the Viking Road and Spikes Bridge Road area from around 11pm on Saturday night.

"I also want to trace a car which was seen driving in the area immediately before the assault. The car, which may be a Vauxhall, is thought to have contained three or four males."
