An exhibition that explores the lives of Poles living in Ealing opens to the public on Sunday, 5 December.

The Ealing Polish Lives exhibition is being held at Gunnersbury Park Museum until 20 January 2011. It is an opportunity to learn more about the borough’s Polish community, one of the largest in London, from 1940 to present day.

The exhibition tells the story of Polish people living in the borough through words and pictures and includes extracts from oral history interviews with 20 people carried out in the borough over the last year.

Council Leader, Councillor Julian Bell, said: “The Polish community has made a huge contribution to the heritage and culture of our borough over the last 70 years. I’m really looking forward to the exhibition and I hope many people will take the chance to come along and see it for themselves.”

The exhibition is open 11am to 4pm and admission is free.
