A 30-year-old man accused of stabbing two policemen in Ealing has appeared at the Old Bailey by videolink.

Unemployed John Paul Onyenaychi is accused of the attempted murders of Pc Paul Madden, 23, and Piotr Dolata, 27, a police community support officer.

The two officers were injured in the incident in Ealing centre last December, but were later released from hospital and are now back at work.

Onyenaychi, of Wise Road, Stratford, east London, is also charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm against a second PCSO, Steven Constable.

Following today's hearing, the defendant was remanded in custody to a further hearing in May. A trial is expected in October.
