The Conservation Management Plan for Gunnersbury identified poor visitor facilities as one of the major issues facing the park today and Ealing Council decided to step in and help to address this by funding the demolition of a dilapidated toilet block no longer fit for purpose and the construction of a new one.

The project team consisted of the Project Manager, Ealing Council, P2 Design Ltd, Bolt & Heeks Construction and Train & Kemp Engineering Business Solutions.

The team worked closely with the Senior Historic Buildings and Areas Advisor for English Heritage, the Conservation Planner, Hounslow Council and the ‘Secure by Design’ Team.

To mark their opening, Friends of Gunnersbury Park and Museum are sponsoring a small celebration of the completion of the new toilet block beside the Victorian kitchen wing of the Large Mansion at 11.00am on Tuesday 14 December.

All Friends are welcome to come along to this event.
