A man has been killed in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 8th February) after being involved in a hit and run.

The 31 year old Janusz Adam Partyka, who lived locally, was hit just before 5.00am at the A4 Great West Road, junction with Wood Lane, Osterley.

Police are asking for assistance in tracing a blue BMW that they are looking for in connection with the incident. The car was travelling westbound towards Heathrow.

The A4 was closed to traffic in both directions from Gillette Corner to Thornbury Road for much of the day.

An air ambulance attended but Mr Partyka was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation has been launched by officers from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit. No arrests have being made.

His next of kin have been informed.

There weret long traffic delays are on this route and around the Brentford, Chiswick and Isleworth areas during the day.
