Troup row along the Thames to help promote show
On 19th February, a group of Sea Scouts rowed from Isleworth to Brentford, in support of the upcoming sea adventure on Watermans stage, Life Of Pi.
Ten scouts from the 3rd Osterley Sea division began their half-term break with a spin on the Thames to draw attention to the theatre show Life Of Pi, an acclaimed adaptation of the 2002 Man Booker prize winning novel, which tours to Watermans from 27nd February until 3rd March.
The show is presented by Twisting Yarn and Bradford Theatres. It charts the adventures of Pi, a 16 year old Indian boy, a Hindu who unusually embraces Christianity and Islam in his search for one God. His family owns a zoo in southern India, and decides to emigrate to Canada.
The ship they travel on sinks and Pi finds himself sharing a lifeboat with a hyena, a zebra with a broken leg, a female orang utan, a 450-pound royal Bengal tiger, his imagination and his faith.
Life Of Pi tickets cost ₤12 (₤10 concessions) and the show is suitable for ages 10 upwards.
