A Taste of Italy comes to The Questors

As the theatre teams up with Carluccios for its latest show

Making the most of the Italian connection, the Questors has teamed up with local restaurant Carluccio's to offer a mouth-watering assortment of free canapes for audiences at every performance of the delightful Italian comedy A Servant to Two Masters next week.

Plus Carluccio’s is also offering a special Meal Deal before or after seeing the show - any pasta dish with any starter or desert together with a large glass of wine for only £15.

Following the success of the knockabout comedy The Venetian Twins a few years back, Anne Neville returns with another Goldoni treat, A Servant to Two Masters in a fresh adaptation by Lee Hall who wrote Billy Elliott, the Musical.

Broke and hungry, a cunning servant gets lucky and lands himself two jobs at once. But pleasing two masters is more than double trouble for the mischievous Truffaldino and just to complicate things, Master Number One is actually a lady disguised as her brother, searching Venice for her long-lost lover who as luck would have it is… Master Number Two. (Are you keeping up?)

But of course it's the gloriously funny characters, the implausible situations and the spirited repartee that keeps the show on its toes. Written in 1747 the play is as fresh today as it was then, and Anne Neville's show is set to have us rolling with laughter at the desperate to-ing and fro-ing of the loved and the not-so-loved.

There are disguises, duels, suicides, love affairs, meals, and misunderstandings galore in this fast-paced play of pure delight. Will Truffaldino manage to serve two masters the perfect pizza without each of them knowing about the other and still get the girl? There's only one way to find out. Nip along to The Questors between 1-8 March.

‘Yes it's farcical but wildly and inventively farcical. More surprisingly still, it also contrives to find passages of deep feeling amid the comic mayhem…the tremendously promising Lee Hall…has come up with a superb new version of the play that brilliantly combines hilarity and darkness.’ Daily Telegraph
